This position involves teaching in a primary school class (kindergarten or elementary) in accordance with the professional competency framework of the French system, exclusively in French. Primary school teachers contribute to the core mission of the school, which is to educate and support all students toward academic success, in compliance with French curricula and the priorities defined in the school project. They are also responsible for classroom management and regulating learning, with constant attention to student diversity. Teamwork is essential and ongoing. Close collaboration with the Spanish teacher is required.

Required skills

• Training in teaching: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education/pedagogy. Good knowledge of the French education system is highly valued.

• Experience teaching in AEFE network schools is highly appreciated.

Position Profile

This is a full-time secondary school teaching position (middle school and high school) in Physics and Chemistry (SPC) and Mathematics within the French educational curriculum.

Specific Teaching Duties

The teacher will be responsible for full-time middle and high school classes throughout the academic year. They will be expected to design and plan instruction in accordance with French national curricula and the priorities defined in the school’s educational project.

The teacher will also be responsible for classroom management and monitoring student learning, while consistently taking into account the diversity of students.

Commitment to teamwork is essential.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Professional teaching qualifications: tenured teacher from the French National Education system on leave of absence, or at minimum a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics-Chemistry and Mathematics, with a strong understanding of the French educational system.
• Excellent command of French for teaching and communication, both spoken and written (native speaker or C2 level required). A B1 level in Spanish is desirable.

Specific Duties

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Educational support duties: welcoming children, assisting with hygiene and daily care.
• Pedagogical support duties under the supervision of teachers.
• Ability to adapt quickly to the activities and responsibilities of primary school educational assistants.
• Ensuring the well-being and safety of minors at the school and during activities organized by the school.

The educational assistant may work across all three kindergarten levels (children aged 3 to 6) and may also carry out supervision and support duties with elementary school students (ages 6 to 11).

Commitment to teamwork is essential. Close communication with classroom teachers is fundamental.
