Position Profile:

Primary School Teacher within the French Education System

 

Specific Teaching Responsibilities:

The position consists of teaching a class in primary school (preschool or elementary) in accordance with the professional competency framework of the French education system, exclusively in French. Primary school teachers contribute to the primary mission of the School, which is to educate and teach in order to lead all pupils to academic success, while respecting the French curriculum and complying with the priorities defined in the school development plan. The teacher will also manage the classroom and regulate learning, with constant attention to meeting the diverse needs of the pupils. Commitment to teamwork is expected at all times. Close collaboration with the Spanish teacher is essential.

 

The expected competencies are:

  • To have received training in the teaching profession: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education. Good knowledge of the French education system will be highly appreciated.
  • To master the competencies required of primary school teachers (https://www.education.gouv.fr/cid73215/le-referentiel-de-competences-des-enseignants-au-bo-du-25-juillet-2013.html)
  • Experience as a teacher in schools belonging to the AEFE network will be greatly appreciated.
  • Classes are taught exclusively and entirely in French; therefore, proficiency in French is required at native speaker level or at C1 level (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Proficiency in Spanish (B1 level) will be an asset.
  • To demonstrate professional responsibility and availability: open-mindedness, adaptability to a variety of teaching situations, interpersonal skills, and motivation for teamwork are essential.
  • To demonstrate reflective practice and a commitment to continuous professional development in:
    • The design and planning of teaching;
    • Classroom management and the regulation of learning for groups of 20 to 25 pupils aged 3 to 6 years;
  • To demonstrate professional ethics: duty of confidentiality, respect for cultures, and secularism.

 

Terms of Employment:

  • The position is available from 01 September 2025.
  • Fixed-term local employment contract.

Student life department overview

Duties of the Principal Education Advisor

The role of the CPE is primarily educational.

The CPE is responsible for managing the Student Life Department. They carry out their duties under the authority of the school principal. Their work is part of the overall student life framework and contributes to ensuring student safety and well-being, as well as providing the best possible learning conditions.

Their responsibilities are mainly divided into three areas:

  • School operations: organization of the department and supervision of student supervision staff; monitoring student attendance and punctuality; tracking enrolment numbers; contributing to school safety; organizing daily student life outside of class time in coordination with the teaching staff.
  • Collaboration with teaching staff: exchanging information with teachers regarding student behaviour, academic performance, and working conditions; jointly identifying causes of student difficulties and appropriate interventions; monitoring class life; supporting students with academic orientation; and contributing to the implementation of school projects.
  • Educational leadership: individual and group engagement with students; organization of recreational activities, participation opportunities, and civic education initiatives.

The CPE contributes to the promotion of the French language and culture.

Required profile

  • Fluency in French and Spanish
  • Strong sense of responsibility, sound judgment, initiative, dynamism, observation skills, listening skills, patience, discretion, pedagogical abilities, and understanding of adolescent psychology

Ability to:

Key Responsibilities

The School Psychologist is a member of the Health and Inclusion Department and works closely with the School Leadership Team and teaching staff to develop and implement action plans that support students' learning processes through observation, intervention, monitoring, and regular updates.

The successful candidate may also contribute to students' career guidance when needed and will develop and implement projects promoting learning, emotional well-being, and preventive support.

The School Psychologist provides guidance and support to students but does not provide clinical treatment or psychotherapy. The role also requires proven experience in developing parent education and training programs and active participation in the school's anti-bullying strategy.

 

Profile and Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Degree in Psychology.
  • Strong knowledge of learning disabilities and learning disorders.
  • Proven experience managing school crisis situations involving children and adolescents.
  • Experience conducting group interventions with children and teenagers, improving school climate, and implementing procedures that promote a positive and respectful school environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a school setting.
  • Mandatory bilingual proficiency in French and Spanish, either as a native speaker or at CEFR C1 level in both languages.
  • Knowledge of the French education system is highly desirable.
  • Calm, confident, and approachable demeanor.
  • Strong sense of service, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage conflict and potential conflict situations while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Terms of Employment

The position starts on 27 August 2026.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) under a fixed-term employment contract governed by Colombian labor law.

Call for Applications – Communications Officer for the 2026–2027 school year

Lycée Français Louis Pasteur is recruiting a Communications Officer (full-time local contract) for the 2026–2027 school year.

 

The Role

As a true ambassador for the school, you will contribute to enhancing the reputation of Lycée Français Louis Pasteur by promoting its projects, events and the richness of its educational community.

You will ensure the consistency and development of the school’s internal and external communications, working closely with the School Leadership Team, teaching and administrative staff, students, institutional partners, the France Communication team and various external service providers.

 

Key Responsibilities

Digital Communications

  • Manage, maintain and update the school’s website using WordPress.
  • Produce, write and publish content tailored to different audiences.
  • Manage and animate the school’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Enhance the school’s visibility and attractiveness across digital platforms.
  • Monitor and coordinate projects carried out with external service providers (graphic designers, photographers, agencies, printers, web developers, etc.).

Early Years Admissions Campaign

  • Participate in the design, coordination and implementation of the annual Early Years admissions campaign.
  • Propose innovative and engaging communication initiatives to promote the school’s educational offer.
  • Ensure the visibility of this campaign, which represents one of the school’s major annual communication priorities.

Institutional Publications

  • Design, write and publish the school’s weekly digital newsletter.
  • Gather information from the various departments and teaching teams.
  • Ensure the editorial quality and consistency of published content.

Events and School Life

  • Develop communication around institutional, cultural, educational and community events.
  • Participate in the organisation, coordination and promotion of school events.
  • Produce photographic coverage and communication content related to these events.
  • Organise the annual class photo sessions and oversee all related logistics.

Support for Educational Projects

  • Support student committees in the development of their projects and communication initiatives.
  • Assist teachers in promoting and showcasing their educational activities and events.
  • Advise staff on communication tools and best practices.

Visual Identity

  • Ensure compliance with and consistency of the school’s visual identity guidelines across all communication materials.
  • Design and update communication materials, including posters, flyers, presentations, signage, brochures and other promotional materials.

Network Collaboration

  • Work closely with the France Communication team and partners within the French cultural and educational network (Embassy of France, Alliance Française, Institut français, etc.).
  • Participate in joint projects and ensure consistency in communication initiatives across the different organisations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with institutional partners and external service providers.

 

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent, minimum three years of higher education) in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Experience in the education sector or in an international environment would be an asset.

Skills

  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong command of social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Proven proficiency in WordPress is essential.
  • Good command of graphic design software and office applications.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Languages
