The Councils

The Lycée Français Louis-Pasteur is governed by an entity called the Colombian-French Teaching Association, a private non-profit Colombian organization with legal personality and rights and responsibilities.

As an AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) accredited institution, the school must establish the councils required by French law.

In total, six governing bodies make up the school’s governance structure, ensuring democracy and impartiality in the decision-making process.

Governing Committee

The Lycée is managed by the elected members of the Governing Committee of the Association, which signed an agreement with AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad) under the cultural accord between Colombia and France in 1979. This committee represents the highest authority within the Association and is responsible for overseeing the school’s administrative and financial affairs. Secondary School Council

The Secondary School Council coordinates and supervises pedagogical activities and school life for secondary students. It facilitates communication between educators, parents, and students and issues recommendations to ensure an optimal educational environment.

Establishment Council

The CE oversees the pedagogical and educational aspects without interfering in administrative management. It drafts and adopts internal regulations and approves the educational project based on proposals from teaching teams. The CE can give opinions on various school life aspects and is informed about the budget and financial matters.

Class Council

Composed of teachers, students, parent delegates, and a management member, the Class Council evaluates students’ academic progress and behavior. It analyzes achievements and challenges, proposes pedagogical strategies, and addresses coexistence and well-being issues, fostering collaboration among all educational stakeholders.

Primary School Council

This council handles the overall operation of the primary school related to school life. It meets regularly at least once per trimester before the Establishment Council and can convene extraordinary sessions if needed. It discusses pedagogical, organizational, and community matters and makes recommendations to improve the school environment. It may propose initiatives for CE approval.

Disciplinary Council

This body evaluates and decides on serious or repeated offenses by students affecting school order. It includes management, teachers, and representatives of students and parents. It reviews disciplinary cases, hears involved parties, and determines corrective measures or sanctions. Its goal is to promote rule respect and ensure a safe, respectful school environment.
