Life at School Beyond the Classroom
School life
Servicio de vida escolar primaria
In preschool, school welfare includes recess and lunchtime, during which children are supervised by assistants. These are moments when students are free to move within a space that is safe and suited to their age.
In elementary school, the school life team includes assistants who support students outside the classroom. From CP (1st grade), assistants are no longer present in class but continue to play a key role by assisting both teachers and students in daily routines. They are present in hallways during class hours, at recess, in the cafeteria during lunch, and at school entrances and exits, helping to maintain order and ensure children’s safety.
The team also works closely with the school office to manage absences and monitor arrivals or early departures outside regular school hours.

Servicio de vida escolar secundaria
The Secondary School welfare team is composed of two Senior Education Advisors (CPE) and a team of 12 education assistants. Their work is essential in creating an environment that supports students’ holistic development. Their mission is structured around four main pillars:
1. Fostering an environment conducive to academic success
- Welcoming students into a safe, caring, and trusting atmosphere.
- Promoting dialogue, active listening, and individualized support.
- Assisting students facing difficulties by motivating, guiding, and helping them stay engaged.
2. Building citizenship and well-being pathways
- Developing autonomy and responsibility through participation in democratic bodies (CVL, CVC, CESCE, eco-delegates).
- Encouraging healthy lifestyles and responsible behavior.
- Promoting inclusion, respect for diversity, and actively contributing to the prevention of bullying and discrimination.
3. Ensuring daily safety and student well-being
- Monitoring absences, tardiness, and movement within the school.
- Maintaining a consistent presence in shared spaces.
- Ensuring smooth communication with all members of the school community.
- Preventing conflict, supporting students, and promoting positive behavior.
- Enforcing the school’s code of conduct and encouraging respectful, value-based coexistence.
4. Specific missions of a French school abroad
- As part of a French international school, the School Life Services also aim to:
- Promote the French language and culture, aligned with the AEFE’s mission.
- Strengthen connections between the French educational system and the host country through intercultural dialogue.
