The marmothèque

The Marmothèque is a library specially created for kindergarten students at the Lycée Français Louis Pasteur of Bogotá. Its purpose is to foster a love of reading from an early age. This space is tailored to meet the needs and characteristics of young children, offering a variety of books and resources suited to their cognitive, emotional, and linguistic development.

The Marmothèque aims to create a stimulating and welcoming environment where children can explore illustrated books, stories, and interactive materials that introduce them to the world of words and images. Through playful activities and guided readings, children develop their imagination, expand their vocabulary, and begin to understand the value of reading as a learning tool.

This space not only supports the intellectual development of the youngest learners but also strengthens their focus, communication skills, and creativity.

The BCD at Lycée Français Louis Pasteur of Bogotá is dedicated to elementary school students, aiming to promote reading skills, research abilities, and autonomous learning.

This space offers a wide range of books suitable for the students’ ages and needs, as well as access to computers. These digital tools enable children to explore technology, conduct their first information searches, and consult magazines and newspapers that broaden their understanding of the world.

The BCD also features a comfortable and inviting reading area where students can enjoy books in a relaxed environment, including hammocks to enhance the reading experience. The primary goal is to foster curiosity and a love for knowledge, helping students develop research and comprehension skills in a fun and enriching atmosphere.

CCC

The CCC at Lycée Français Louis Pasteur of Bogotá is a modern and enriching space dedicated to students from Sixth Grade to Senior Year (ages 12 to 18). This center offers not only a vast selection of reading materials but also resources for information research and autonomous learning.

The CCC holds over 30,000 print publications including novels, stories, mangas, comics, and documentaries, along with French and English print and digital press collections. Students also have access to an audiovisual collection of more than 600 educational DVDs, broadening their visual learning experience.

Three professionals support students in their academic research and projects while organizing cultural workshops, exhibitions, and activities with artists or journalists. A librarian teacher conducts media and information literacy (MIL) sessions, helping students develop critical thinking skills for information evaluation.

The center also features a covered outdoor reading area, providing a pleasant environment for studying and reading outside.

The CCC aims to be a key place for students’ academic and cultural development, encouraging their curiosity, research skills, and offering a diverse and enriching educational experience.

E-Sidoc is a digital platform that allows students and teachers at Lycée Français Louis Pasteur of Bogotá to access the online library catalog. Through E-Sidoc, users can search and consult books, magazines, DVDs, and other educational resources, make reservations, and manage their loans efficiently, simplifying access to information for research projects and study.
